Single-paper lookup by DOI or title for research agents — citation count, influence, open-access status with a direct legal-OA link (Unpaywall), venue, and a TLDR. Deterministic passthrough over OpenAlex + Semantic Scholar + Unpaywall, no synthesis, cheap and fast.
$0.02Base7calls / 30d - GET/api/institution
Institution research-output benchmark for grant offices, research-strategy agents, and comparison shopping — works count, total citations, h-index/i10-index, a 10-year output/citation trend, and topic-strength breakdown (OpenAlex). Optionally benchmark two institutions side by side.
$0.02Base3calls / 30d - GET/api/author
Author metrics for research agents and grant/hiring due-diligence — works count, total citations, h-index and i10-index (OpenAlex summary stats), a 10-year output/citation trend, affiliation timeline, and an honest disambiguation-confidence flag when the name search surfaces multiple plausible candidate profiles.
$0.02Base2calls / 30d - GET/api/ref-check
Bibliography verification for AI research agents — POST up to 20 citations (DOIs or free-text references) and get a per-reference verdict: exists/not-found, retracted/withdrawn (Crossref + Retraction Watch + OpenAlex), and title/author/year mismatches against a real record. Built for agents auditing LLM-generated bibliographies before a citation ships.
$0.02Base2calls / 30d - GET/api/funder-impact
Funder research-impact brief — what a funder's grants have produced, grounded in OpenAlex's grants.funder-linked works (highest-impact papers, field distribution). Built for grant-strategy agents and program officers scoping a funder's track record before applying or partnering.
$0.20Base1calls / 30d - GET/api/literature-brief
State-of-research synthesis for a specific question — grounded in top OpenAlex + Semantic Scholar results with full citations (DOIs). Built for AI research agents that need a citation-backed starting point fast; explicitly not a substitute for a full systematic review.
$0.25Base1calls / 30d - GET/api/journal
Venue/journal intelligence for authors and research agents deciding where to submit or whether to trust a citation's source — OpenAlex metrics (works, citations, DOAJ status, APC) plus Tavily-grounded, cited legitimacy signals. Never renders a bare predatory/legitimate verdict — evidence list + neutral framing only.
$0.10Base1calls / 30d - GET/api/topic-scan
Rising-topics scan for a research field — retrieves top-cited/recent works from OpenAlex for a topic and synthesizes what's currently rising, what's foundational, and where coverage is thin. Built for research-strategy agents scanning a field before a literature review or grant proposal.
